My local grocery store had blueberries on sale: 2 for $5. How could I resist? Unfortunately, I was so busy thinking about the deal I was getting it didn't occur to me that I can't eat two crates of blueberries all by myself before they spoiled.
I kept thinking I would bake some blueberry muffins or pancakes but I've been lazy to bake these days. So I opted for popsicles since I keep harping on about this heat. Seriously, I swear it gets warmer every year. 98 degrees already?! I figured using a blueberry and white cranberry tea base would be the most efficient to give it extra flavor and because I drink tea everyday like it's going to turn me into Super man Woman.
Ingredients:
1-2 bags of blueberry tea. (I used Tazo's Berry Blossom)
Putting it all together:
heat up water. The amount you need depends on your popsicle molds.
Melt sugar in water. This depends on how sweet you want your popsicles and the ratio of sugar : water. I made them pretty sweet since I didn't want these tasting like flavored ice cubes.
Steep tea and fill popsicle molds half way. Let them slightly freeze and pop in blueberries and fill the rest of the containers.
Side Note: I like to let my water cool to room temperature before steeping my tea because pouring hot water directly onto the tea causes it to taste more bitter than it should be. A little trick I picked up.
